Glass Link Balustrade

Handrail Design are the UK's exclusive distributors for this definitive Danish handrail & balustrade system and work closely with UK based Architects and Specifiers on schemes both inside and outside the United Kingdom. For Architects outside the U.K. please contact www.dline.com. d line is a modular component concept manufactured in high grade AISI 1.4401 (316) austenitic stainless steel and is based on a basic yet elegant format of baluster, glazing and handrail.

Danish Design

The design-registered product features a balanced combination of satin polished stainless steel for the machined components and structural members with a bead blasted finish for the investment-cast intelligent elements. It is intended to fully integrate with the existing range of high profile d line Architectural Hardware fittings.

d line handrails accommodate changes in direction in a number of ways; 90 degree bends are produced as standard items which are then cut to length during installation. Changes in angles are either created by a formed bend in the rail or by utilising the distinctive OmniBend; a sophisticated component which can be adjusted to the required angle on site. Schemes involving curved balustrades can usually be achieved whether horizontal for balconies or helical on staircases – early consultation is recommended to ensure that the correct specification and cost plan is defined.

Handrail terminations are produced as standard components ranging incrementally by 50mm from 150mm to 350mm in preset lengths. Ends of balustrade toprails can be cantilevered and capped square or partially turned down to emphasise the end of the stair. Straight runs of handrail may be connected directly into an adjacent wall providing the composition of the wall is structurally adequate. Wall mounted handrails can be terminated with capped ends or returned with 90 degree bends connected secretly to the wall or with a rosette.
